St. John Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. St. John Lutheran School is accredited by National Lutheran Schools Accreditation and the State of Indiana through its Performance-Based Accreditation process. The school complies with all rules and regulations of the state. All teachers at St. John hold State of Indiana teaching licenses, or are working on securing Indiana licenses. All subjects of the entire school curriculum are taught in the light of God's Word, which forms the basis of curriculum development and improvement. St. John Lutheran School follows the curriculum evaluation/adoption schedule as established by the state of Indiana. We offer the following: RELIGION - Bible stories and Bible study, worship experiences, doctrine, mission education, memorization, confirmation instruction, hymn study, religious songs. LANGUAGE ARTS - Leveled reading program, English grammar, writing, spelling, handwriting, dramatics, speaking and listening skills, computer keyboarding, word-processing, desktop publishing. MATHEMATICS - Basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, geometry, beginning algebra, metric system, problem-solving. SOCIAL STUDIES - Geography, history, political science, social living, government, Indiana history, current events. SCIENCE - Concepts in biological, physical, and environmental science through study, laboratory demonstrations and experimentation, health and safety, drug and alcohol awareness, decision-making skills. MUSIC - Student participation and relevant experiencing of musical concepts, singing, music appreciation, rhythm. Choirs are available at all levels (K-8). ART - Drawing, painting, form, art appreciation, sculpturing, ceramics, home arts. PHYSICAL EDUCATION - Body strength, coordination, perceptual motor development, group games, recreational opportunities, individual and team sports. FIELD TRIPS - Visits to local educational sites.
Tuition and Fees for the 2006-2007 School Year $50 of the tuition/fee is paid with registration. Another $100 is paid before opening day in August. Balance can be paid in full by July 15th before school begins, or paid in 10 equal monthly payments (Aug-May) through SMART Financial Services.
