CALL ACCEPTED


We praise and thank God that He has led Jennifer Tinkey to accept the call as the new Kindergarten Teacher. We welcome Jennifer to the St. John staff.


CALL ISSUED


St. John has issued a call to Mr. John March to serve as Principal. He currently serves as Principal at Our Savior’s Lutheran School in Colonie, New York. 
Please keep Mr. March, his family, and his school in your prayers.

LAPS WALK-A-THON



Our annual spring Walk-a-thon will take place on Wednesday, May 9th.We hope you will all join us in this effort to raise funds for exciting programming and opportunities for our students. The project includes an option to send your sponsor letters through email with a video to share as well: http://stjohnindy.org/walkathon

ISTEP

ISTEP testing began in grades 3-8 this week and runs through April 27th. Each grade has been scheduled in the Media Center for each online subtest, and it is very important for students to be present for these scheduled sessions. Parents, please be sure your children can be present for each test.

SPELLING BEE


 
Students in grades 1 - 4 represent their classes in the Spelling Bee on Wednesday evening, April 18 at 6:30 PM. in the Dwelling Place. Please use the Hunter Road parking lot entrance or the main door to the Dwelling Place. The main school doors by the office will not be unlocked.

SPORTS AWARDS NIGHT

All student athletes from the fall and winter seasons and their families are invited to join us in the Gym on this Sunday, April 22nd from 5:30-7:15 pm. We will recognize our athletes for their achievements and present them with the sport pins. First-time participants will receive their Letter, too. Cookies, lemonade, and iced tea will be provided. If you would like to donate cookies please label them and drop them off in the workroom by the 20th. If you have any questions, please speak with Mr. Willig via Fast Direct.


LUTHERAN SCHOOL FINE ARTS FESTIVAL

  

On Friday, April 27th, Choir and Band students (Grades 6-8) from the Lutheran Schools of Central Indiana will be in concert as combined choirs and bands at 7 pm at Lutheran High School. Art work from a number of students will be on display as well. Come see the art work at 6:30 pm, then stay and enjoy the music.



Q & U WEDDING


       
Last week, our Kindergarten students celebrated the Q&U Wedding. This event celebrated the fact that Q&U are always together. The 1st graders and afternoon Pre-K students were invited as guests.

 
SAVE THE DATES

 
Did you know we have two teachers retiring this year? Help us celebrate with Mrs. Cheryl Willig during an open house on Saturday, May 12th from 11:30 am-2:00 pm. We would love to have you come again on Sunday, May 20th from 11:30 am- 2:00 pm to celebrate with Mr. Mark Zimmer. 

FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS



As we move toward the end of the school year, families are reminded of the importance to pay all tuition, registration, lunch, extended care, and band fees by the end of May. We also reserve the right to decline enrollment status if balances are excessive. In accordance with Indiana state law, no records or report cards will be released in any form or transcripts forwarded to new schools until your financial obligations have been met.
