How much does God love us? John answers this question in his first letter when he says, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” God’s love for us did not end with His words. It was expressed in action – the act of giving His Son, Jesus, for us. The cost we could not cover ourselves was settled in the sacrifice of His Son.

How much do we love others? What can we learn from the love of God as we allow the Holy Spirit to bear fruit in our lives? Read on, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” And this not just in words, but in action. Lord, may it be so in our lives.
