School News: December 4, 2018

Our Lady Eagles both had exciting games last week against Calvary. The Reserve game even finished in overtime. This week the Lady Eagles travel to Holy Cross to face the Blaze. The first game starts at 5. Then our Varsity Lady Eagles will travel to St. James in Lafayette for a tournament on Friday and Saturday. Our boys will take the court for a home game on Thursday beginning at 5. They will host the Calvary Knights. Don’t forget, St. John students get free admission to every home game! Please take pictures and send them to Heidi Mielke at

Congratulations to the St. John Robotics Team on a successful tournament at Brookview Elementary this past weekend. Out of the 34 teams competing, Team 3 finished in 1st place and received the Teamwork Champion Award and Team 2 finished in 4th. Team 4 finished in 13th and got their personal best in their skills score. Awesome job Eagles!

We can’t wait to see you today at Jack’s Donuts on Southport Rd. Mention St. John when ordering your donuts. The 20% donation is for the entire day! Don’t forget your amazing St. John staff when placing your donut order.

It has been brought to our attention that some of our school families are driving rather quickly through the neighborhood to the south of our school. Please be respectful of our neighbors and our community when driving to drop off or pick up your child.

NOEL HOUSE will be open on Mon., Dec. 17th and Tues., Dec 18th. Volunteers will be available to help your child shop and will also help with wrapping. Noel House is an opportunity for your child to do some Christmas shopping for mom and dad and siblings. Most gifts range from $1-$5. A NOEL HOUSE envelope will be sent home with the students next week that will help our volunteers know your child’s shopping list and funds. There are no online payments this year, cash or check only.

We need volunteers to help with the Noel House Christmas shop on December 17 & 18th. We need people to help the younger kids select gifts for their parents, grandparents and siblings. If you can help please contact: Anita Peterson 317-506-3240 or sign up HERE.

Put on your aprons and start baking. We would like to do something special for the staff at St. John Lutheran this Christmas Season, and we need your help to make this possible. On Thurs., Dec. 20, the PTL is sponsoring a lunch for all of the teachers. We would also like to have a cookie event for the staff members and fill the workroom with plates of homemade goodies. Then, each staff member will get a box and fill it with an assortment of goodies that they choose. (Items do not have to be homemade). Any questions please ask Michelle Smith 317-432-6057 or fast direct.

Sign up HERE to donate cookies or for the teacher lunch.

Sign up HERE to volunteer as lunch monitor during the teacher lunch on Thursday, Dec. 20th.
