SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS WEEK
As I was studying the spiritual gifts mentioned in I Corinthians 12, I got to thinking about other talents and abilities God has given us. There are so many talented artists, musicians, speakers, athletes, and writers. In fact, there are too many talents to list here. We should be thankful for these talents, but sometimes, we forget that. We allow ourselves to think less of classmates, friends, and others because they do not have the same talents and abilities that we think we have. They are not athletes or artists. They are not musicians or speakers. They don’t have the talents that we have decided are the most important.
Let’s remember - each of us is talented in some way, and each talent and ability is important to the community. No one is talented in every area. Think about it. If all of us were musicians, who would provide the art? If all of us were athletes, who would provide the music? As the group brought together this year as the St John Lutheran School community, our individual talents and abilities combine to produce a great learning environment for all.
This week, let’s praise God for the variety of students we have at St. John. And let’s look for new ways to celebrate all of the talents and abilities God has provided for our school community.
This event, which involves students in grades 1-8, begins in the Gym at 6:30 PM. Students will be seated on the floor along the west wall. Parents will sit in the bleachers along the east wall. We hope to see all of you there.
