SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS WEEK
English lesson time. Many are familiar with the words from I Corinthians 13 because this passage about love is a common reading at weddings. Another great passage about love, however, is I John 4:7-12. I encourage you to read this passage this week and look at how many times the word “love” is used. I count 12 times, sometimes used as a verb, sometimes as a noun, and sometimes as an object. The passage begins, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love, does not know God, because God is love.”
May God’s Holy Spirit increase the fruit of love in each of us this week. May others see in us the great love that God has for all people.
MR. KERR TO RETIRE
Mr. Rick Kerr, our Principal, has officially notified the Board for Child Christian Education that he will be retiring at the end of this school year after 45 years in education. We praise God for Mr. Kerr and his 27 years of ministry at St. John and we ask Him to bless his transition to retirement and all of his future plans to continue serving Him.
PRINCIPAL CALL COMMITTEE
A Call Committee has been authorized by the Church Council to fill the vacancy that will exist with Mr. Kerr’s retirement. Luke Baskett, the chairman of our Board of Education, will chair that committee.
MRS. LEHENBAUER continues her recovery in the hospital. We praying for her full recovery and ability to return to the comfort of her home soon.
