SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS WEEK

English lesson time. Many are familiar with the words from I Corinthians 13 because this passage about love is a common reading at weddings. Another great passage about love, however, is I John 4:7-12. I encourage you to read this passage this week and look at how many times the word “love” is used. I count 12 times, sometimes used as a verb, sometimes as a noun, and sometimes as an object. The passage begins, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love, does not know God, because God is love.”

May God’s Holy Spirit increase the fruit of love in each of us this week. May others see in us the great love that God has for all people.

In addition to non-perishable food items (such as canned and boxed goods), donations of household items (such as laundry soap and paper goods), and personal items (such as toothpaste and diapers) will be very much appreciated.
