SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS WEEK
I worked as a novice machinist one summer just after I began my teaching career. My “mentor” was a man who had been with the shop for many years. It is not for his great skill that I remember him, though. It was because he was always singing and laughing at the machine right next to me. He just seemed happy most of the day. I was just looking to earn a little cash, but he really enjoyed what he did.
Jesus wants us to have that kind of joy, the kind that just comes up from the heart and escapes through our actions. This is not a joy that I can go out and find for myself, though. It is a joy that comes from knowing He paid the price for my sin, and that my life is in His hands. As Paul shares the Gospel message to Timothy, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” May that joy fill our lives this week.

Chicken Fajitas, Corn Dogs, Pizza Burgers, and Fish Sandwich. That’s what’s on the menu for lunch this week. And if those don’t sound tempting, there is always the Chef Salad or Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwich as an alternate. All meals include a choice of fruit, vegetables, sides, and milk. The numbers participating in the school lunch program are growing every week and we hope all will soon join them.
