SCHOOL PICTURES

These will be taken Wednesday, Sept 20. Please refer to the order form that will be sent home with students today. All students will be photographed for the school yearbook and identification purposes whether pictures are purchased or not. All portrait orders must be PREPAID using the envelope that will be provided. Make checks payable to Inter-State Studio. NOTE – The school dress code is relaxed that day. However, jeans are still not allowed since they do not appear in the photos. Also, printing on any shirts must be in agreement with our school values.

PICKUP PLACARDS

Placard time has finally arrived! If you pick up students by the west school doors, Mr. Willig will have a placard for you this week. The placard will have the student’s last name.

Once you have the placard, we ask that you help our teachers know who you are picking up by displaying the placard where the teachers can see it as you approach the canopy. Our goal is to safely dismiss your students as quickly as possible. While we have been blessed with teachers that know many of you and your vehicles, that will not always be the case (teachers are out of school for various reasons).

If you need several to accommodate multiple persons picking up, please send a Fast Direct message to Mr. Willig indicating the number of additional placards you need.

HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF UPDATE

Thanks to everyone for the Donations to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to be donated to Lutheran South Academy in Houston. In under 2 weeks, we were able to raise $3,862. We thank you for supporting others in need. It’s great to let others know that It is Still All About Jesus.

DINE TO DONATE

Similar to the Spirit Night’s we had last year, the PTL is organizing “Dine to Donate” events at local restaurants. This month we are kicking off this event on Wednesday, September 13th from 6-8 pm at Fazoli’s 4742 S Emerson Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203. Fazoli’s will donate 20% of the profits back to St. John. Your child should be bringing home a flyer today. Please make sure you bring your flyer with you to show you are with St. John. Hope to see you there!

CHOIR SCHEDULES

Schedules for when the children choirs (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) sing during our worship services can be found on the calendars available on the web site (“Events”.”) You can see a month at a time by clicking the dropdown called “View As.” They will also show up on the app under “School” then “Events,” then “Special Events.”

DIG PINK SHIRTS

Every year Lutheran High School supports breast cancer survivors and their families. Join us by supporting them as well. You may purchase a dig pink shirt for $10. You can wear the shirt to school on October 3rd. If you wear it to the Lutheran volleyball game, you get in free. If you do not want to purchase a shirt you can still make a donation. And then wear a pink shirt to school on the 3rd. Please bring your orders, with exact change, to the Office by Monday, September 18th. The flyer is going home today.

PTL MEETING

The September PTL meeting is next Tuesday, September 19th at 7 pm in the Teacher Workroom. Everyone is welcome to come and share their ideas and see how they can become more involved in the school.

KROGER SHOPPING

We appreciate all of those Kroger shoppers out there that have added St. John to their Community Rewards. From April through June, they have contributed $297.12 towards St. John. All this was done, just by shopping. Thanks again for your support!

The School Grade report from the Indiana Department of Education is in and St. John was assigned the Grade of “B.”
