SCHOOL PICTURES

School pictures will be taken tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept 20. Order forms were sent home last week with students. There are extra forms outside the office. All students will be photographed for the school yearbook and identification purposes whether pictures are purchased or not. All portrait orders must be PREPAID using the envelope that was provided. Make checks payable to Inter-State Studio. You may also order online at inter-state.com/order and use the code: 21473KB. NOTE – The school dress code is relaxed that day. However, jeans are still not allowed since they do not appear in the photos. Also, printing on any shirts must be in agreement with our school values.

PICKUP PLACARDS

Placard time has finally arrived! If you pick up students by the EAST school doors, Mr. Willig will have a placard for you starting Wednesday. The placard will have the student’s last name.
Once you have the placard, we ask that you help our teachers know who you are picking up by displaying it where the teachers can see it in the passenger car window or holding it as you walk up. Our goal is to safely dismiss your students as quickly as possible. While we have been blessed with teachers that know many of you and your vehicles, that will not always be the case (teachers are out of school for various reasons).
If you need several to accommodate multiple persons picking up, please send a Fast Direct message to Mr. Willig indicating the number of additional placards you need.

HURRICANE IRMA PROJECT

We’ve heard about the devastation in Southern Florida after Hurricane Irma and our school students have once again, asked how they can help. As a school community, we have adopted the Lutheran organization, Amigos Center. This center has 3 locations in Florida and has been established to help immigrant families get the help they need. As a school community, our goal is to move the Barometer, found in the hall, to a 5. Each number represents $100. Let’s show the residents of Southern Florida that “It’s Still All About Jesus.” To learn more about the Amigos Center, click here.

LUNCH MONITORS

Lunch monitors are still needed this week. For those that do not know, each month we ask for volunteers to sit in classes during the students' lunch time, so that the teachers can enjoy their lunch together.
If you, or someone you know, has time on Thursday early afternoon, we would appreciate your help.
Grades still needed as of this posting are: 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. To sign up, click here.

FIELD TRIPS

Our Pre-K class took a trip to Pleasant View Orchard last week. While there, they learned all about the letter A, and were able to pick some apples. Our 7th-8th grade students traveled to Lutheran High School on Thursday for Saints for a Day. While there, they shadowed other High School students and experienced what it would be like to be a Lutheran High School student.

OUTDOOR NATURE CENTER

Plans have been drawn up to develop a nature center in the area where the teacher house was removed last year. We hope it will be a blessing to our students and our community, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. The project will require funds and we are seeking corporate sponsors of all sizes to help.  If you have any contact information for any of our area business that could be approached, please share that information with Mr. Willig. Please do not make that initial contact, we just need a foot in the right doors. We thank you in advance for any information you can provide. We are very excited about the many possibilities this will provide to our school, church, and community.
