Welcome to St. John Lutheran, New Members!

← Return to Blog Home

On Sunday, January 29th, we will receive nine new members from our adult confirmation class.

After months of study and catechesis, or studying our confessional Lutheran doctrine as presented in Martin Luther's Small Catechism, we are excited to welcome them as members in fellowship, worship, and belief among us.

Since October, Pastor Jim Myers and Pastor Troy Countryman have worked to present the information in the Small Catechism and lead discussions in what it means to be Lutheran on topics like the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion with the adult confirmation/new member class.

After worship at 10:25 a.m. on January 29th, we will have a small reception following worship to welcome them. Please consider attending and introducing yourself if you see new faces and think about sharing ways to get involved or the groups you enjoy serving with at St. John.

Our new members are: Gary Castle; Scott Cone; Jayme Smith; Angelena DeWitt; Vernon and Shannon Schmidt; Bennett and Toni Vaught; and JoAnne Glascock.

We look forward to reaching out to and welcoming them. We thank them for joining us!
