Welcome to St. John Lutheran Church & School! Our doors are open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.
If you’re new to St. John or are considering joining us for a service, we hope you’ll find a place where you are warmly welcomed and feel at home. At our services, we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a compelling, easy-to-understand format. Helping people discover the grace and love of Jesus is at the center of all we do.

Where do you meet?
St. John is located at 6630 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis.
When are worship times?
- Saturday, 6:00 p.m., Traditional Service
- Sunday, 8:00 a.m., Traditional Service
- Sunday, 9:30 a.m., Sunday School/Bible Study
- Sunday, 10:25 a.m., Contemporary (New Song) Service
- Sunday, 10:45 a.m., Traditional Service
What can I expect from a typical Traditional Service?
- A traditional Lutheran liturgy with a meditative, reverent atmosphere.
- Challenging, but clear sermons that apply God’s Word to your life.
- Singing praise to God in beautiful, organ-accompanied hymns.
- Held in the Sanctuary.
What can I expect from a typical Contemporary (New Song) Service?
- A live band with contemporary music.
- Challenging, but clear sermons that apply God’s Word to your life.
- A free-form flow to the service using screens/media to aid in following and learning.
- Held in The Dwelling Place
What children’s programs are offered?
- Sunday School, 9:30 a.m. (coincides with Bible Classes for adults)
- Nursery available for children during services
- Youth Bible Study
What is the best way for me to connect?
- Visit with others in our commons area! On Sundays, you can find coffee, tea and donuts.
- Come check out an Adult Bible class at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
- Join a small group.
- Help us out! Serving Opportunities will introduce you to new people. It also helps to give you the sense that you’re really a part of this big community.
