School News: March 13, 2018


St. John has issued a 7th Grade/ Social Studies Teacher call to Mr. Timothy Galligar. He currently serves as 5th-8th Grade Social Studies Teacher at Peace Lutheran School in Bremerton, WA.
St. John has also issued a call to Mr. John March to serve as Principal. He currently serves as Principal at Our Savior’s Lutheran School in Colonie, New York.
Please keep them, their families, and their schools in your prayers.


Yearbooks are coming home with your child today. Extra yearbooks will be for sale in the office on a first come basis. They are $14 and please bring exact change. Checks can be made payable to St. John Lutheran School.

Congratulations to our Robotics Teams. One team places 31st in the State. The other team qualified for the World Competition held in Louisville, KY April  29th-May 1st. The team consists of the following members: JT K., Keegan H., Wyatt G., Caleb M., Brylan S., and Aiden C.. Way to go Eagles!!!

Join us for Lenten services for the Series “Christian Suffering through the Eyes of Job” based on the book of Job. Wednesday Lenten services are at 4:30 pm and 7 pm in the Sanctuary with a soup supper between services in the Commons. Our Jr. Choir will be singing this Wednesday at the 7:00 service. Please meet in the Music Room at 6:45. You are invited to join us for Soup Supper at 5:30. Hot dogs and PB&J sandwiches are available too.


Join us on Thursday, March 15th at 7 pm for the 1st-4th Grade Musical, ARF. Students should be report to their classrooms by 6:45. 1st Grade will report to the Music Room.


Our Grandparents and Special Persons Day is happening Fri., March 16.  Our festivities will begin at 12:15 with Chapel and a variety of activities with the students will follow. PreK Classes will have Grandparents Day in their classroom on the 16th and the Preschool Class will take place on Thursday the 15th. We also offer a Book Fair as part of that day.


Book Fair is scheduled for March 14-16. Students will have a chance to walk through on Wednesday and purchase on their own Thursday or with their grandparent on Friday. The Book Fair will also be open during the Lenten soup supper Wednesday evening as well as after the school play on Thursday evening. Preview sheets will be handed out to students early next week.

Last Tuesday our 5th Graders ventured to the Junior Achievement BizTown. While there they learned how to run a business, write checks, and how to work in different jobs and capacities. This is always a high light for our 5th graders.


School will be closed due to Spring Break, March 19th-23rd. The office will remain open from 8 am-12 pm every day. Enjoy your break!


Restoration on the exterior of the church building will begin today and continue for 6-8 weeks. Please be patient and careful, as you enter the parking lot from Hunter Road, as this is the company's parking and staging area.
